total alien

The last few days have been filled with massive baby movement. For the first time I SAW the movement though, which is totally different than feeling rumbles and ricochets inside. I was sitting in the recliner, with the laptop on my lap and out of the corner of my eye the pattern on my shirt moved and caught my attention. I watched for a minute and sure enough another tremor. And now it's the normal thing to do. Watch Aidan try to bust out. He is pretty persistent I will give him that. It is by far the strangest thing to observe. Your tummy, which is already an amazing strange territory as it grows like never before, starts to lump up in random places. I like to poke him a little here and there and see if he pushes back. Sometimes he does and I could sit and play that game all day. Like fetus patty-cake or something. Weird bonding.

This alien movement started at the same time Braxton Hicks started. No coincidence I am sure. Gotta give me something interesting to hold my attention while my abdomen starts to be annoying. It's a trade off I can handle for now. As long as they stay false contractions for 10 or more weeks I will be ok. Preferably 16 weeks. But at the very least 10.

Next few weeks will bring shots and glucose tests and all kinds of doctor office fun. *sarcasm* And I remind myself we are only doing this once. Deep breaths and focus on the awesome, amazing and fun stuff instead. Like alien boy.
