It's an honor just to be nominated.

 I love the Q&A stuff so this is fun for me. I have really come to know a few of my lady friends solely from social media (Which seem super crazy right? Considering most of us are from the last generation who grew up spending free time outdoors drinking from a hose and not glued to an electronic devise). Learning more about my cyber social circle is awesome. Expanding that circle is even more awesome.

The scoop: The Liebster Awards are like a chain-letter. Kinda. Someone nominated you. You accept, and write your post (11 facts about yourself, answer 11 questions from your nominator, and ask your recipients 11 questions), nominating several blogs that you enjoy to also receive Liebster Awards. New reads for everyone! Yay!

My nominator and longtime real life homeslice is Jenn Pfaus of www.theelsewhereblog.com/
If you have not checked out her page you should. We rival in snark.

11 Facts about me:

1. When I was in my twenties I secretly hung out at libraries and bookstores and told my roommates I was out at bars drinking. Nerd.

2. I should be more careful about how blunt I am but I am not sure if it's something I want to change about myself.

3. I cannot stand Will Smith. As far as I am concerned he will only ever have been the Fresh Prince.

4. I loved ( still love Hanson.

5. I am a really good listener and remember details like dates and names to the point it's creepy.

6. I have always thought I would make a good private investigator (see above).

7. My middle name is Dora. There, I said it. I also really hate my middle name.

8. I planned a big Foofy wedding and then said "Fuck it" and got married at our favorite pub and cut the guest list in half. Because I realized it was all for show and rapidly becoming everything I loathed.

9. My husband and I are the same height.

10. I love wrapping presents. I get a little crazy about it.

11.  I love love love scary movies. I love to be scared.

Questions from Jenn:

1. Tell me about your best friend. Are you alike, how long have you been friends? Well, You are one of my few best friends, Jenn. We have serious mindlink when it comes to judging the ultra trashtastic. The words "really?" or "seriously?" followed by a look is often all it takes. And the other will reply with either laughter or "I know right". That is a standard conversation. We have been friends for years and years (I will be honest I always forget how long exactly But I feel like I was 25), roommates for a spell, and sisters from other misters for life.

2. What's the one talent you wish you had? Music. I wish I had learned an instrument as a kid. I always have envied those who can play the guitar or piano.

3. Are you a good driver? Yes. I tend to be a granny sometimes but I think it's fine.

4. What's your worst habit?  Judging the trashtastic.

5. How has your blog changed over the years? It started as a maternity blog and has evolved into a lifestyle blog with some food and diy stuff but always with the same sass as the beginning.

6. What trait of yours do you hope to pass down to your kid(s)? I hope they have my humor. I know Hal does. It's awesome to watch America's Funniest Home Videos with her. She cannot contain her blush or her Guffaw laugh when someone gets nut kicked or slips and goes ass over tea kettle. Aidan already has a pranky streak that the girl and I both see and encourage.

7. Which trait would you rather they didn't inherit? I hope Aidan is more organized (Which I think he will be naturally with his autism. Blessing of it all) but I think Hal has to fight the creative scatter brained stuff like I do. Some of that is Nature AND Nurture. Bummer.

8. Fav song that makes you feel great, never fails to put you in a good mood? Natasha Bedingfield - Pocket Full of Sunshine

9. Are you superstitious? Oh yeah. I pretend not to be but yes. I also read my horoscope for the day every night before bed.

10. How did you meet your significant other? We were set up on a blind date. The only one I had ever been set up on because I was completely opposed to them. Only to find out we had been acquainted through friends about ten years before. Small crazy world.

11. If money were no object what's the one thing you would indulge in? A huge farm/vineyard life. Home grown everything forever. And all the wine.

My Questions for those nominated:

1. Realistically, do you think you have turned out like your mother?

2. You are at a wedding. Poultry or Fish?

3. The strangest thing you do when home alone?

4. If you had to chose one desert to eat and none others ever again, what would you choose?

5. Did you have any names that didn't make the cut for your kiddos? What were they?

6. Looking back to high school what would you have been nominated "best_________"?

7. What is your ideal family vacation idea?

8. What is the furthest place from home you have ever traveled?

9. What would you say your vice is?

10. Any task you dread doing more than just about anything?

11. What do you think the weirdest phobia is?

I nominate these bloggers I super dig:

Jess - IROCKSOWHAT

Christia - my three men and a little lady

10 Questions for my dear Jenn!

 This one is fun and easy because she is a real life bestie of mine and though I think I would know how she would answer these, I am always entertained. Miss Jenn Pfaus can be read up over at www.theelsewhereblog.com ( which is a good place to feel momhood comradery if you are in the toddler trenches and need a laugh ). Jenn is a pal of mine that I have known from our wild and single poker days, through our roommate backyard beer pong championship days and now into wife and motherhood days. It's refreshing to have a friend you can turn to and go " Seriously?!" and then they clink glasses with you, nod and smile. In addition to just plain being rad, she is a really amazing Photographer as well ( she is the master eye that captures Aidan in family photos for us without wanting to throw herself on a sword with frustration. It's called being a kid master) you can see here work here www.pfausphotography.com  . Cheers to my girl and her answers to my ten Q's. Enjoy.

**One of my favorite throwback pics of us when we were uber fun and childless**

1) If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?

New Zealand. I have always had an itch to go. It's looks so amazingly beautiful. In the US though I am dying to to go Glacier National Park. It's a bucket list goal to hit all of the major national parks with Ozzie before he graduates HS.

2) Favorite food you can cook?
Mashed potatoes with pan cooked bbq chicken.

3) Favorite food you go out looking for?
Pad See Ewe!!

4) What or who inspired you to start your blog?
I didn't even really read blogs when I started mine in 2009. Mine organically came from being pregnant and wanting to document and keep folks far away included. I had a "blog" my myspace back in the day too, old school.

5) When I read your blog, what should I picture you wearing?
Check out my #officefashionshow pics on Instagram. Generally I start and/or finish my posts when I have a few minutes at work.

6) OK, you are ten years old. Who is your idol?
Debbie Gibson or possibly the kids on  Kids Incorported. I was planning in being a star. #fail

7) Favorite song today?
Ever... Or just for today? I am pretty stuck on the damn Rihanna "Stay" song. I don't even like effing Rihanna so I cannot really explain it.

8) Best (worst) idea for a new reality show?
Celebrity Dirty Jobs, but REAL celebrities, none of this soap opera star, Disney teens, or from other reality show "celebs". Let's watch Tom Cruise inseminate a cow or Reese Witherspoon clean out a septic tank.

9) Pet peeve?
Late people... The chronic ones who apparently do not value MY time at all. So rude.

10) If you were a bug, on a wall, watching and event, what kind of bug would you be, where and what would you be witnessing

Hmmm fun question! I'd be a fly watching Kim Kardashian go trough labor. You know she's gonna be a whiny train wreck, especially with Kourtney in her face and all "I did it drug free and pulled the baby out myself". I wanna see the real stuff that E! Will edit out.

Bravo!!! Number 8? HELLS YES!! Can you picture Kourtney K being told to wash laundry at a cloth diaper company? It would be like " Bible, I am NOT touching those".

** and I do believe #7 is currently Mirrors from good old yet new JT. Just to update accurately to today's date**

Man I love my friends.

10 Questions - Canada Edition

 Good Morning Ya'll!!! Today is already 68 degrees and it's currently 9am. But what about where my next guest is? "It's 12:25 & errr....20 degrees Celsius (I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit)" she tells me when I randomly ask it out of the blue.Which may have been a strange question first thing in the morning if it wasn't noon there. Mrs. Alicia Higgison aka @mrshiggison on most social media ( twitter and instagram) aka Higgy to those who love her. You can read her rants and weaves of wit over at lifewithladies and you wont regret following her anywhere online period. This broad is fantastic. She pretty much single handedly changes my opinions of Canadians. Not that my thoughts were set to negative, more like "meh". Now I wanna visit her. And also let our smallest children meet so they can take over the world.

I sent here my current set of weirdo questions and this is what that beautiful brain of hers cranked out. ENJOY!!

1) If I could travel anywhere... I'd go to Finland. I was an exchange student there in 1999-2000 and I love it so. But I'd go in the summer because the weather is perfect and the sun never sets. (As if you couldn't guess- the winter is the EXACT OPPOSITE. Can you picture a world where the sun never rises? That's Finland for 3 months.)

2) Favourite food I can cook is...pork tenderloin and some potatoes on the barbecue wrapped in tin foil with far too much butter. But someone will have to start the barbecue for me. I'm afeared.

3) Favourite food I go out looking for...sushi. I am too damn lazy to make it myself!

4) What or who inspired me to start blogging...I believe the first blog I ever read was Heir to Blair. I've always been a writer, but just never could think of a place to put it all. Then Twitter kind of encouraged me to start a blog like Beth Anne's and the rest, ahem...is history!

5) When you read my blog, you should picture me wearing...sweatpants, a tank top, a sweater with the sleeves hanging over my knuckles and one sock. I don't know why the one sock, it just always happens and I feel I should be honest. Also you should picture me wearing all the earrings and necklaces I've had on all work day which don't go with at-home garb but I am both fancy and lazy.

6) I'm 10 years old...right now? Like today I'm 10 and who, if I'm 10 right now, is my idol? I would LIKE to say Hillary Clinton because she is a BAMF, but instead I'll be realistic and say like Emma Stone because she's cute and famous and rich and gets to kiss Ryan Gosling a lot. (If this is not the question you were asking well...I would say I'm sorry but: Ryan Gosling.)

7) Favourite song today is...Carry On by Fun. I just love it so very much. It makes me smile.

8) Best idea for a new reality show...I think it's time for some politics in reality television! How about this new pitch: Follow a Senator! And cameras would like shadow their days which are actually pretty action packed and then he/she would have to answer for all the promises they made on camera on Fox. (I also assume it would be on Fox.)

9) Pet peeve...snapping gum and cracking knuckles and people that play the martyr card.

10) Bug, on a wall, at an event...I would be a fruit fly (those effers never die and you can't catch em) but I'd be the Smartest Fruit Fly Evar, and I would be in the women's bathroom at the Grammys. Can you imagine how catty they would be? It would be amazing.

I trust that you will keep in all my Canadian extra "u"s:)
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 You bet your ass I left them in there! It bmakes you, YOU.
I Googled it!! 20 degrees Celsius is 68 degrees Fahrenheit LOL That kicks ass. They finally have spring! Bravo Canada, bravo.
10 Question Interview - Getting To Know Abby
  This lovely Momma and pal is a humorous real life writer over at www.everydaywithhazelmae.com and all around stand up gal. She is my first victim in the new edition that I thoroughly bit off of the old 10 Questions We Ask Everyone ( thanks Maxim). Mine might change but so far I love them. Here is Abby darling and her answers to my quandaries.
1) If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
I love the idea of selling everything I own and taking a sail boat on a tour arounf the world. The freedom and tranquility that comes with that is just amazing. I would love to see Australia, Russia & Fiji.
2) Favorite food you can cook?
I make a KILLER Macaroni and Cheese. It's my mom's recipe and she made it a lot when I was growing up. Total comfort food.
3) Favorite food you go out looking for?
i am a sucker for desserts. I can bake OK but my expertise is limited to cakes and simple pastries. I can really appreciate a good, well executed dessert.
4) What or who inspired you to start your blog?
I needed an outlet and I am inspired by so many awesome bloggers. I follow over 300 blogs of all sizes. Some of my favorites are;
The Elsewhere Blog (http://www.theelsewhereblog.com/)
The Small Things Blog (http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/)
J's Everyday Fashion (http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/)
I often need an escape from my everyday life and blogging provides that for me. I enjoy writing for myself and need a creative outlet or else I go insane.
5) When I read your blog, what should I picture you wearing?
Hopefully one of the many outfits I feature! I love brainstorming and coming up with new outfit ideas - I love Polyvore! But Right now I am really into relaxing at home in black leggings and an oversize sweatshirt....Or anything polka dot.
(side note from me: you should see some of the amazing outfits she posts about. go see. right now.)
6) OK, you are ten years old. Who is your idol?
Ramona Quimby.
7) Favorite song today?
  I'm SUCH a sucker for pop music and right now I have the following on my Spotify shuffle;
'I Will Wait' - Mumford & Sons
'Stay' - Rhianna
'One Love' - Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis
'Sad' - Maroon 5
8) Best (worst) idea for a new reality show?
 Tune in Wednesday nights at 8 and watch my 3 year old chase our kitten Harrison around our apartment!   You'd only see him about half the time - the other half he'd be hiding so it would just be hazel looking under the bed and stuff yelling "HAWWRRYYY! HAWRY! Mommy I think harry doesn't like me. I wanted to color him but now I can't find him." I think it would get a little boring after a while.
9) Pet peeve?
Leggings as pants. I don't mean under dresses, tunics or skirts - that's all fine. I mean, like. as pants where I can see the ENTIRE shape of your ass. Just leave a little to the imagination and just don't do it ok?
10) If you were a bug, on a wall, watching and event, what kind of bug would you be, where and what would you be witnessing?
A lady bug (duh) in Johnny Depp's dressing room.
Bravo ladyface. The last one gets three snaps Z formation. You wanna be interviewed? Gimme your email and it's on like Donkey Kong. And stay tuned for a weekly post from some of my favorite people.
